I have read through everything here, and nothing is working for me. No matter what
I do, the checkbox under the advanced for "use drop shadows for icon labels" always
re-enables itself at each boot. I am trying to use Iconoid for custom icon texting
colors. Works fine on my laptop, both with XP sp3, but the desktop, which has just
received a new hdd and OS install refuses to keep the settings. Some of the registry
tips posted do not even show in my registry, so I don't know if the poster was using
server or a different sp. I also don't have a desktop tab under properties when right
clicking the desktop. I tried sampling the XP tweak program, and even it reverts
to the box being checked at start up. No known spyware or malware installed. It is
a classic annoyance, the only way I can get the icons the way I want is to unchck
the box every time. I'm still looking for a solution.
