How remove all security restrictions on a LAN

I have several computers in my home connected through a router. All machines are
running XP Pro. Two are SP2 and the other is SP3. I need to access files between
the machines but all I get is headaches. I get access denied, or password required,
etc, etc. I have sharing enabled, no firewalls, no passwords set up. Yet no matter
what I do I can't access files between the machines. Does anyone know how I can completely
disable whatever security or other obstacles that would prevent my having completely
unrestricted access between the machines?
Thanks for any advice.
PS. Please no lectures on what a bad idea this is. I am alone and the only user.
Nobody else has access and the one machine that is connected to the internet is well
protected from outside attacks.
