6 years after your post, your answer relieved my grief and solved my problem. I had
the same problem on Windows 2003 server x64. I booted from a system rescue cd (gentoo
based), ran gparted and saw indeed that the partition was hidden. I unflagged the
partition with gparted, applied the change and rebooted. This time Windows booted
just fine, no blue stop screen with that arcane error. Many, many thanks for your
post.
