Computer restarts when I turn monitor off Friday, July 17, 2009 at 6:00 pm Windows XP Annoyances Discussion Forum Posted by Patrick H. (2 messages posted) Whenever I turn off my computer monitor (physically press the button), my computer immediately reboots. I have had this computer for about a year and a half, never happened before until I reinstalled windows a month ago. It drove me so crazy that after a week I reinstalled and the problem persists. I have a GeForce 8500 GT video card and a Acer x193w monitor that shows up as just "Plug and Play Monitor" in device manager. Anyone encountered a problem like this before? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
