No..  Won't help..  Portables need proprietary drivers, so if XP is not supported 
by the manufacturer, then you don't have much of a choice.  It won't work unless 
you can find a compatible driver for it somewhere.  Either check their website to 
see if there are XP drivers, or conclude that XP will not fully support the older 
machine (which is common when it comes to laptops, even newer ones)
