hard drives do not always give warning first, I recently lost one (just a data dump
so no crisis) with no warning whatsoever. That said see if disk management sees it
and just lost the drive letter for some reason, if it does not show up there check
the BIOS screen that lists the installed drives, if it is not there either the drive
or the controller went out on you.
