explorer.exe crashes when I right click on icons or files Monday, July 20, 2009 at 2:24 pm Windows XP Annoyances Discussion Forum Posted by Ernie Augustine (3 messages posted) I've got Win XP Media Edition with SP3 installed. I'm not really sure when it started, but sometimes when I right click on an icon in the quick launch or on a file in Windows Explorer, explorer.exe will crash with the following messge:Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. When I click on info I get this message: EventType : BEX P1 : explorer.exe P2 : 6.0.2900.5512 P3 : 48025c30 P4 : shell32.dll P5 : 6.0.2900.5622 P6 : 48580a39 P7 : 00056f65 P8 : c0000409 P9 : 00000000 Anyone have any idea what is causing this and what I can do to fix it? I've looked in C"\Windows\ for 2 instances of explorer.exe and theres only one. Thanks for any help anyone can be!
