Laptop will not boot Monday, August 31, 2009 at 7:43 am Windows XP Annoyances Discussion Forum Posted by M. Lee Berger (1 messages posted) My laptop has been sitting for a couple of months. I charged the battery and started it. It cannot boot. Message on screen: "NTLDR is corrupt. The system cannot boot." I have tried the recovery disk, even reformatting from the recovery disk but nothing works. It tries, then same message. Does anyone know why this happened and how to fix it?
