IE8 freezes Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at 4:41 pm Windows XP Annoyances Discussion Forum Posted by ptp2 (3 messages posted) I recently reformatted my hard drive. I am running WXP SP3 IE8 Outlook Express 6 I have experienced no problems with any of my programs. However IE 8 is driving me crazy. It freezes when clicking on hyperlink, but it does not happen all the time so I have no idea why. Task manager closes the program I reopen it and everything is fine again. In addition Outllook express also freezes on hyperlinks intermittently. I have tried just about every suggestion on the forums: registering dll and all that good stuff. I even tried Microsoft Fix it: no palpable result there either. If anyone has any suggestion I really would appreciate it. I do not wish to change browser because un til now I never had major problems with IE. I e mailed microsoft and they directed me to the forums.
