Since you have Acronis and now have a large external HDD, you simply must make a full image backup of your entire internal HDD. Then - whatever you, viruses, corrupt systems, partition managers, defragmenters, malicious users or anything else screws up - you can always go back to a known satisfactory state at the click of a few buttons (and a wait of some hours if its a big drive).
