I have to be careful because I have no security software installed, I just use ccleaner and defrag after installing, then I boot up Clonezilla and update the latest image. In general use, however, I find it the best policy to avoid connecting XP to internet. As with this latest problem, it is where most of my problems arise from. Once I disable networking after fixing it, it works fine for a long time.
