Now I am stuck with the problem and don't know how to fix it. I read somewhere that I maybe able to repair my ntuser.dat file if I use regdatxp 4.1 Would the problem go away if I create a new user account with admin privileges then copy over my profile to the new user account using WinXp Files and Transfer wizard ? Any other suggestions? Right now its just an annoyance . I am afraid that the problem might get worse with time and I may not be able to log into my account in the future . It's too bad that windows just went ahead and used the alternate copy but don't list the files that are causing the problem in the first place.
