I tried the solutions given on the link you provided but my computer is still showing that KB971486 is downloaded and needs to be installed. Since my Windows Update Review Page shows I had already successfully installed this update three times I used the directions given that pertained to when the Update shows as being installed. I guess my only question right now until someone (me included) figures this out is since my Windows Update page says it is 'installed' as well as the entry for it in the 'Add/Remove Program' section can I consider it installed and I have no security breaches as a result of it?
