Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at 5:43 pm Windows XP Annoyances Discussion Forum Posted by Adam Bradley (7848 messages posted) You should see a prompt at the start of a key to press to enter setup (F2 and delete are common but it can be anything) and look around for where it lists the installed drives, where that is varies from one BIOS to the next, see if it detects your hard drive there. If it cannot see the drive then the drive is likely toast. There is an off chance it is the data cable that connects the drive to the motherboard, harm in swapping that out as a test.
