The ultimate solution to this to this problem is supplied by Microsoft themselves!
Simply download the utility PNPReg.exe from their site
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;810509
and run it from the "command" prompt with the switch "-l" ("l" for Lock).
This locks the ENUM branch of the registry to prevent unauthorised changes. The main
culprit is Leadtek WinFast Titanium 200 driver installation software. Without the
lock in place, the driver installation process changes the data in the ENUM values
in the registry (something it should not do) thus causing the error.
After running the lock, simply go into Conrol Panel and in Device Manager find devices
which show errors. From there right click on the device and select "Update Driver".....Voila!
All fixed without having to change any permissions in the registry........Took
ages to find this fix, but it was worth it! :-)
