Installation of IE8 is failing Friday, November 6, 2009 at 6:49 pm Windows XP Annoyances Discussion Forum Posted by Darren (120 messages posted) I've tried to install IE8 but got the error message instead: "Internet Explorer 8 could not be installed. You must restart your system to confirm that any changes to your system are undone"" I was then given the link: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/949220 in which there were few suggestion how to attempt to fix the problem.. I've tried them all one by one and still getting the same error. I do have the XP SP2.
