Its not really possible to diagnose this remotely with so little information.
You may as well start by eliminating malware as a cause - download the following
two scanners, run a full scan and accept any deletions proposed.
Malwarebytes
Superantispyware
Then open Task Manager, click on the Processes tab and see what's consuming your
CPU resources (at a time when youre getting the hourglass) by clicking twice on the
CPU column header.
Then post back with what's happening to your PC in more exact terms please, eg:
Does your PC start up more slowly than it used to ?
Is the PC slow on every task ?
Have you made any changes recently - new hardware or software ?
When do you get the hourglass icon on the task line ?
What happens if you start the PC in Safe Mode ?
