I'm in a real pickle here. It's been SOOO long since I've seen this, and I need a hand. We attempted to ghost an hard drive to an external target drive of the same make/model. Afterwards, we rebooted..but forgot to disconnect the external target drive. Now in order to boot, both hard drives must be attached to the computer. In windows disc management, we have one drive that says healthy (active) and one drive that says healthy (system). If you disconnect the target drive, the PC will boot to the light blue screen where you usually see the welcome screen / the accounts to click on to access the PC, but all you see to the right of center is the windows xp logo in front of the light blue screen and that is as far as it goes. I used to know how to fix this, but I just can NOT remember! Isn't there a way to put the XP SP3 disc in and boot from the disc to a repair menu to fix this? if so, please post a step-by-step process or suggest another way to fix this? I just want to be able to boot again from the orginal drive and have it setup as the active and system drive.
