Security certificate errors

When opening certain web pages, i keep getting this annoying bar across the top of
the web page that states "To help protect your security, internet explorer has blocked
this website from displaying content with security certificate errors. Click here
for options." I always option to display the blocked content, which is just part
of an ad. I noticed this started after installing IE8. Is there a way to avoid this?
