Well "Generic Host Process" is the same as services.exe, and there are a legion of possible causes so a good first step would be to narrow things down by looking what's in Event Viewer at the time of one of these crashes. Double click on any items with a red cross and post back with the details. Among the possible causes is a failing device eg a network or video card - maybe overheating causes the delayed failure and the perceived randomness. BTW I think you might find WinPatrol makes managing startup entries much easier and more comprehensive than with Spybot ?
