Perhaps, before going through startup items, you might run in Safe Mode for some time and see if the problem occurs - if it does that at least saves you going through your startup items and probably points at a hardware issue, maybe related to overheating. In fact the lack of information in Event Viewer tends to point to hardware . . . software usually gives more information as it dies.
