Make note of the generic host processes and what is running under/in each one. When one of the processes crash and disappear, you will have an idea of where to look. As mentioned, it is usually a driver or hardware issue but no way to know for sure without seeing it in person. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896653.aspx This will give a start and hopefully you will get some useful info without spending a lot of time digging deeper.
