Thank you, that has solved my query.This leads into another question. This list of 'all programs',without these new shortcuts, is the same as the list in 'Add/Remove programs'. None of my programs that I have on my HD, all working programs, that I had before upgrading from win98 to XP is on the list in "Add/Remove programs"
