Windows has nothing to do all day but create temporary files, and logs.
To stop Disk Space usage,
Disable your AV Software so it won't update definitions
Disconnect from the Internet, so no temp Internet Files are made.
Don't install Microsoft Updates.
Don't Install any new programs.
Don't Update any old Programs or Drivers.
Make your Page File smaller.
Turn Off System Restore.
Set Recycle Bin to One percent.
I Have 3 Video Editing Computers set up this way for several years
They have 10 gig Windows Partitions with about 6 gigs Free space
the free space only fluctuates a few hundred MBs.
