As many have tried to say, some resident program is running in the background and
creating either log files, temporary internet files that aren't being cleared automatically
upon closing the browser, gaining data through regular use (saved games lists, emails,
pretty much anything.)
The way to see what's taking up space on the drive is to use a program called SpaceMonger. The "old version
1.4.0" is free and doesn't require installation and I believe it can be used from
any drive, not just the current one. It may give you some idea of what's going on.
