Yesterday my HP720C parallel printer suddenly appeared to have developed a problem
in that it would not print at all regardless of whether I was using the print spooler
or not.
If I select the spooler for printing, an "Error Print" would immediately be displayed
with the print job. If direct printing is selected, Prints and Faxes just shows "Ready"
under Status indefinitely but nothing happens at the printer. I have re-installed
the printer and set Print Spooler for Automatic Restarting in addition to running
ScanDisk. But still no luck.
Is there any simple way to see if anything is being sent
to or received by the printer?
Last week I came across an identical problem with a working Canon BJC-210 parallel
printer when I tried to use it with either of my two WIndows XP computers. The more
I think about this matter, the more I tend to think it is a software problem. Could
this printer have "carried" such a problem from one computer to another? I'll greatly
apprecaite anyone's advice and help..
