Can't even say WHY an empty couple of folders is so annoying, perhaps it's like having someone put their foot on your neck; it just rubs one the wrong way. Neverthless, my work on the internet empowering people to empower themselves for the purpose of "making a bit more even an unlevel playing ground" is justified when encountering people like you who help others without demand for recompense and such.
