This here, yes.
I realize this is an old post but I've spent the past day lost in this maze. Greyed
out audio stuff, enabled but not started etc. etc.
This part about the machine.inf file.... this was my fix.
Find it, open it... take out that line and save it somewhere. Then go through the
Add Hardware steps one by one, as if you were installing a System Device and then
choose the new machine.inf file. It will then give you a list.... select the Plug
and Play Software Enumerator from below, on the right, and.... well, my sound came
right back on.
I still don't see the Enumerator listed but.. to heck with it, my sound is back on!!!
