Maybe M$ has twigged to this list of instructions. They seem to have added another level of difficulty. I found that in the registry there is another entry in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ MozillaPlugins called @microsoft.com/WPF,version=3.5. It puts the add-on back into Firefox. If you delete this key (and all sub-keys) then it no longer shows up in the add-on list. 'Course you still have to deal with it being re-installed by updates.
