I am currently trying to do your fix as specified in:
http://www.annoyances.org/exec/forum/winxp/1106055897?s
, but I cannot delete a key. The key is "called" swenum and amonst other things points
to it's location, so it's probably vital to get rid of it for your fix to work.
I always get the response that the key cannot be removed. All permissions are given
and when I try to click myself through the keys "subfolders" I get an error that
the last one cannot be opened. It's a bunch of gibberish called "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\swenum\Devices\{cfd669f1-9bc2-11d0-8299-0000f822fe8a}\{CF1DDA2C-9743-11D0-A3EE%00A0C9223196}"
So i'm guessing somethings corrupt, I just cannot get rid or access it blocking me
from following your instructions.
