Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at 8:57 am Windows XP Annoyances Discussion Forum Posted by Mike Shank (1 messages posted) hi - this is april 2011 and i've had this problem for about two weeks and have read all the threads and replies about this subject and have tried most of the fixes written here. i eventually opposite clicked on my task bar and realised that the task bar was locked, so i unlocked it and lo and behold i could suddenly change my appearance and desktop settings and it stayed that way. what suprised me was that for all the involved fixes no one thought of checking to see it the task bar was locked! for new people looking at these old threads i suggest you try my fix first before going into all these other fixes. just remember that when you've unlocked the task bar and changed the settings, just lock the task bar again and it'll stay that way. good luck mick, cape town, south africa   Written in response to: Question about 'My Taskbar is windows classic instead of XP..
