I have a question about Connect
to a Windows XP or 2000 system with a Windows 95, 98, or Me system over a Network:
I have a laptop running windows XP home edn. connected under a linksys befsr41 router
with other desktops running 98/ME OSes. It seems that whenever the laptop is on,
it interferes with the network neighborhood and whenever one tries to browse the
network, the windows 98/ME machine gives the "unable to browse the network..." error.
It is possible to access a 9x/ME machine from another by specifying computer names
directly, but they are all unable to communicate with the XP laptop. The laptop's
network neighborhood also does not function at all and remains blank. All protocols
are set up properly as far as i can tell, and all the firewalls on the xp machine
are disabled. In addition, all the PCs have no problem accessing the internet thru
the router. Any ideas?
many thanks,
chris
