I have a question about Top reasons for random, fatal crashes in Windows XP and Windows 2000:

I have had loads of random crashes, it just freezes and nothing works. I have completely formated the hard drive and it still happens but mainly in media player while burning disks Has anyone experienced this and could you give me some more ideas how to solve this before I throw it out the window!! ( not a microsoft window)
