http://www.pcmag.com/utilities/ free program called WinTidy - will restore icon location for every resolution (you choose when it saves icon layout), then when change resolution, it "loads" the saved icon layout for that resolution. only niggle, is that WinXP has "align to grid" for icons - this causes WinTidy to not properly restore icon places. disable WinXP "align icons" and WinTidy does it's job superbly.
