Question about 'Dealing with Windows's Advanced Power Management (APM)' Tuesday, October 1, 2002 at 8:05 am Windows XP Annoyances Discussion Forum Posted by Larry Pacheco (1 messages posted) When i power down using the Start Button-Turn off Computer my computers hard drive shuts down but the power remains on. I then get a message that "it's save to turn off your computer", after i turn off computer every thing seams fine, however after about 30 minutes or so my computer turns it's self on. What's Up! When i was running windows 98 when i would shut down everthing would shut down including the main power.
