Question about 'How do get the taskbar and desktop back if Explorer crashes'

I noticed that the article was written in December of 2001. It is now January 2003 and I was wondering if a fix had been found for the frequent crashing of Explorer.exe. I get the problem all of the time and was wondering if there was any solution for it.
