''Sort by name'' no longer works in start menu Monday, September 8, 2003 at 4:38 pm Windows XP Annoyances Discussion Forum Posted by taryuu (1 messages posted) i was trying to sort my start menu in XP and to my frustration it no longer worked. right clicking on the menu caused my start menu to flicker instead. i figured out that it was beacuse i had disabled the "drag and drop" option in the taskbar properties. so .. . if you have the same problem, go into the control panel then taskbar and start menu, customize, then advanced, then start menu items, and enable draggin and dropping.
