Question about 'How do I stop Internet Explorer from loading a ''home page'' when it starts?'

I have set my internet explorer v6 to load specific page from internet whenever it starts,but each time i shut down my pc and turn it off i find the starting page is altered.What goes wrong?I have run a virus scan,latest definitions, but that showed nothing
