It comes in several flavors : free windows version, commercial pro version for mass testing, and commercial suite with a bootable test floppy, to test the actual RAM without any OS running. It's called memtest, unsurprisingly. I use it all the time to test new RAM modules or new RAM timings... http://hcidesign.com/memtest Another such free one is memtest86, released under GPL : http://www.memtest86.com Now don't say you can't find a free program to test your RAM!
