Open in New Window bug in XP:IE6

I spent a few hours wrestling with IE6 Internet Options, because something (trialware
like HI Client, Acrobat Rdr, Copernic, etc..) had caused my IE6 to FAIL when attempting
to open a link in a new window. The new window can always be 'forced' by right-clicking
on a link and selecting that option from the resulting context menu. IF your IE6
fails in this way, go to Support.msn.com and look up Article ID: Q180176 ('Open in
New Window' Command Does Not Work in Internet Explorer') The solution described works
well enough for IE6. (Cold restart helps).

The problem I have is similar but not quite the same. It takes an eternity (1.5 -
2 sec)for the context menu to be displayed when using IE6. It appears instantly
in all other applications. I have tried everything and it is driving me nuts !!
But with regard to the problem you are having tony, If you hold down the shift key
when left clicking a link it will open in a new window.
Hope this helps

I'm having the same 'this drives me crazy' problem with the right-mouse-context-menu.
No solution so far...

My problem, once I start dial up networking, opening a IE 6 window takes like 5-10
secs. Only when DUN is connected
