I have a question about Resolving Hardware Conflicts:

I got Windows XP on my new Gateway and was having all kinds of dial up problems and found that because I had a more sensitive modem I can not use my portable phone on the same line I am using to be on the internet. Just wanted to add that.

I'm not sure if this issue is related to the same issue ADSL modems have with phone lines. I got some devices that needed to intercept traffic from the wall jack to the phones in my house. I don't know what they do, but it was something the phone company stressed. If I didn't have these things, they said the ADSL connection might not work.
