Windows XP Problems

I don't understand it. I don't know how or why some of you are having so many problems. I am not trying to be a jerk, but except for the slow home networking, I haven't seen any problems with XP. One of the first things I did though, was to disable the firewall and install Norton Internet Security 2002. It did make a big difference, and I never realized how much I was being attacked over my cable mode. One thing I have learned through reading some articles, is that most antivirus programs, are not compatible with XP. Actually, I have heard that unless a program has been certified for atleast Windows 2000, you may experience problems. I have a new Dell Dimension 1.7G with 256 MB of ram, and Windows XP home addition installed. I am very satisfied with Windows XP. (once I returned to the classic windows look that is)

I installed XP over 98, and have a HP Pavillion with 600 hard drive, 256 ram, and 30 gig hard drive. What drove me nuts was the theme or desktop kept changing on me. No matter what changes I made and tried to keep different (XP) themes kept coming back, and the colors were extremely unpleasant. If you can help or make suggestions I will consider reloading XP. Until them I am back to 98. Thanks, Dick

Are but ... Your home networking is slow because XP is analysing the software on your network . The firewall had to be uninstalled because xp is going to tell microsoft what you've got on it . Sometime next year you will find your ISP has gone bust because it can't afford the rent that microsoft charge them for activation of it's browser . Then you will find that you didn't buy xp afterall and are just renting the services it provides . Doom and gloom , doo and gloom ....
