My computer won't shut down automatically and it won't power off when
I press the power button. I'm currently power it off with the main
switch at the back.

Hello
I have the same problem and the suggested link is no good for me because by PC runs
ACPI instead of APM. I have a ABIT KT7 PC and the ACPI is always enabled in BIOS.
Therfore the APM /HAL is not loaded.
I also have problems with the sleep function as the PC crashes.
Any solution to this problem ??

Hi Diana....
I was having the same problem, and found out that my EZ CD creater was causing it.
I think it was MS's
Q310628 (I think) that was talking about it......I downloaded the upgrade 5.02b and
the problem went away. Good Luck
Mike
