Explorer freezes at right-clicking files or clicking ''File'' menu item.

I have just upgrated from Win 2000 pro to Win XP pro.
Everything works fine, except for the fact that Explorer seems to start looping endlessly/freezes
as soon as I right-click on a file/folder or click the"File" menu item in Window
Explorer. The only way to restore functionality is to terminate the explorer.exe
process and start it again.
Any clue as to what might be the cause of this behaviour??
Thanx for feedback!

Generally upgrading is never a good idea because of glitches (like yours). Your
best bet may be to back up your personal data, format your C:, and do a fresh install
of XP instead of an upgrade. Alternately you could try replacing explorer.exe :

I had that happen to me as well, and I know were not alone either. Driver problems
is the culpret...
I was able to fix my problem.
I updated with the newest Highpoint driver, My chipset drivers and my video drivers.
I'm not sure what fixed it
hope this helps.
