I have a question about How do I skip the Product Activation in Windows XP?:

You know I used the disc that came with my mother in laws Gateway and it worked fine.I even used the product key off of it and i still had no problem. The only thing that i dont think it is worth the trouble of upgrading.Your DOS games like Tomb Raider arent going to work,my game controller didnt work and my DVD drive didnt want to work half the time. I always updated and to me it didnt seem like it was worth the trouble. If i was any of you,i would roll back to Windows ME or 98 or just go to 2000.It is the same core as ME but it doesnt look like a Hasbro toy on steroids.(I did think the little search dog was cute though for XP.)

Just a point of information XP is based on Windows 2000. It has nothing in common with 98, or ME. If anything XP is like Windows 2000 SP4. If you think XP is tough to play games on try it on 2000. In any case there are tools in XP to allow you to customise the way the system handles 95, 98, 98SE, ME, NT4, and 2000 products. It does however require you to read and learn how to use them. It seems most people are just too lazy to buckle down and use XP properly and then to cover their ignorance claim that they liked 98 better anyway! Ha.

All you people need to learn that the Computer was designed to make the business
world quicker. It wasn't made to play games. I'm not saying that I don't play those
games, I'm just saying that you need to choose which operating system you are going
to use by which is most stable and provides you with all the business needs you have.
I have chosen to dual boot using Red Hat Linux and Windows 2000 Professional.

I've had to use and set up Windows XP plenty of times. It takes about 5 hours
to completely set up Windows XP along with a variety of programs. It takes me 1
hour at the most to do the same thing but using Windows 2000.

Linux has proven to be way more stable than any Windows operating system, it's free,
and it takes less system resources than Windows too! Just Use the OS that works
best for you and when you have problems, find something else.
