I have a question about Windows
keeps forgetting simple settings, such as screen colors!: I have two questions.
First:Why does the automated task bar stop automating after i Reboot from a Powerdown
reboot?
Second: why do the taskbar icons drop off after i reboot. an example is the volume
control keeps droping off from the task bar?

I am having this same problem with Windows XP Pro. I recently formated and since
then MSN Messenger, Creative's AudioHQ, Intel Active Monitor, and a few other programs
do not appear in the task bar after restarting. Also after reboot two programs appear
in the task bar (ICQ and something else) and then after almost 2 minutes a few other
programs appear.
I've tried a number of ways to fix this. Any imput would be very helpful

I'm having the same exact problem. Every time I reboot my machine, the volume icon
on the taskbar (notification area) goes away. I've tried rechecking and rechecking
the box that says "place volume bar in taskbar" over and over, but it always goes
away. Very annoying.
