Followed Barry's advice. Got Stop 0x0000007E(0xC0000005,0xFA184945, OXFA2E39BO,0xFA2E36B0) Kbdclass.sys-addressFA184945base@FA184000, datestamp3b7d82fc. Had installed Logitech keybd. w/o doing enuf checking compatibility 1st. (Although shutdown prob. existed w/keyboard that came w/computer). Found article @Microsoft Q313050 w/same prob., #'s are a little diff. Problem now: Uninstalled k/bd., turned off computer/when started next day..comp. powers on, monitor comes on & shuts itself off within 2 or 3 seconds. No way to keep it on. Monitor works fine w/other systems. What now?

Dayyumm...been there.. If you are getting a constant restart, try removing any and all pci devices minus the BARE essentials...(vide0 or agp)..My problem was with the Athlon k7900 TB and the Asus K7V.....hmmm...worked on the other one so what the @#$%@#...it usually comes down to a chipset incompatability...(in my case that is). If you Own a VIA BASED CHIPSET MOTHERBOARD and you also have a CREATIVE SB LIVE SOUNDCARD installed...yu are gonna get some screens,,,,trust me. Seems that there is an incompatible timing sequence between the Emu10k1 and the 686B chipset..Via has a Latency program and a 4 way memory enabler...(bios has built in) that seems to have helped a bit....the only way I solved my prob was to get another card that I knew for a FACT was compatible with my equiptment,, ::::When in doubt, give your puter a bath::::: Good luck, MFH

In cmos (your bios setups), go to the power managment setups for your motherboard, there disable everything you can, set the power switch options to disable also. You can tweak with this stuff later, anyway, this is what it was on my FIC P4 mb with an intel 845 chipset. Most frustrating, but that fixed the rebooting problem, now it shuts down properly.

it could also be the auto restart option (performance tab somewhere) it auto restarts when it gets a stop error.
