I had a same problem. The hard drive you use may compressed by software or compressed
in Windows 95. Anyway, now you don't have this software running in your computer,
so you have this problem. My way to fix this problem was using a partition software
like Partition Magic, you can merge the partition that have problem to the one have
no problem. In my case C: and D: was OK but E: have problem. I merged D: and E: together.
After that I can have my files and the space in E: to be moved to the "New" D:. Everything
just run perfect. However, when I try to resize the D: drive and made a new E: again.
The "New" E: with very unstable and have the same problem again. So I suggest you
just leave the D:. Good luck.
