Run Menu Problem in Windows XP

How do I clear program files and folders I entered in the Run Menu diologue box from the Start Menu Command in Windows XP? When I insert the application disk in the CD Drive, the System Restoration Kit doesn't come up. A box comes up, saying I can't create c:\program files\gateway. I don't want to create it. I just want to get it out of there. Would appreciate help on both issues. Thanks Edom25

Right click start > Properties > Click advanced tab > Click Customise > Click clear on the Recent Documents List.

The easiest way is to right click on all programs--- Left click properties-- Left click customize--- Click advanced tab-- Click Clear list---

This does not clear the Run box, it clears recent programs from the start menu. If you click start, run, and get the command box, then type for example, http it brings up a list of URL's you have visited even though history and typed URL's are empty.
