Can't access some websites while using a shared PPPoE connection

I got through the ping section ok at 1454, but I am somewhat confused at the REGEDIT
section. My Primary is Xp and Client is Me. I got all the way through to Net and
found 2 branches one is 0001 and the other is 0002. My question is? Should I be looking
for the words TCP/IP under one of those branches. Secondly, what does decimal option
mean? I am assuming using the numeric keys and lastly what is the Mtu value determined
above mean? Is it just 1454 or 1454 plus the gateway address. Thank You

Download this application:
http://www.dslreports.com/front/drtcp.html
to the Windows ME machine, run it, select your Ethernet card, set the MTu to 1480
to match the Windows XP server, this is assuming you are using the native PPPoE in
XP. Shut down the application, reboot and surf away.

Hi,
For all PPPoE connections I recommend an MTU setting of 1460 or bellow.
The easiest way to set this on client machines on a network is to use a small utility
called DR TCP. This saves users from having to fumble around in the registry which
can be very dangerous!!!
Available for download here: ftp://ftp.wn.com.au/windows/dialup/DRTCP021.exe
Good luck.
